Job Description

The Senior Manager will be part of the leadership group and is responsible for leading a team delivering works and to manage the delivery of programs, assist with business planning and continuous improvement measures.

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) is part of the Department of Education. Established in 2016, it oversees Victoria's largest school building program since the state introduced free public education in the 1870s.

The VSBA delivers on three key priorities:

  • to build and expand the schools and early childhood services Victoria needs for its rapidly growing population
  • to reform how we maintain and modernise school buildings and grounds
  • to engage local communities, giving them more say and keeping them better informed about new schools and
  • major upgrades.

The VSBA upgrades and expands existing schools and plans, designs and builds new schools to meet enrolment demand. We also support schools to maintain their buildings and grounds by offering expert advice and coordinating maintenance programs and grants.

With Victoria recently introducing two years of funded kindergarten, the VSBA is also working with the early childhood sector on a massive kindergarten construction program.
The VSBA is made up of property and building experts, project managers, architects, former principals and
business managers and specialists in relocatable buildings, facilities management, communications, finance, data analytics and policy.

Asset Management Division

The Asset Management Division is responsible for setting VSBA's strategic asset direction, developing and implementing programs that address accessibility, inclusion and accommodation initiatives, and building school capacity to manage assets.

The Maintenance Delivery Branch (MDB) oversees maintenance projects, encompassing planned maintenance, as well as the upkeep of hydraulic fire safety systems and shelter-in-place facilities. Additionally, it ensures that secondary school campuses are equipped with suitable facilities to accommodate mental health practitioners, aligning with the government's commitment for this program

The Senior Manager will be part of the leadership group and is responsible for leading a team delivering works and to manage the delivery of programs, assist with business planning and continuous improvement measures.

This will include:

  • building positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate and communicate the successful delivery of

operational programs:

  • communicating complex issues, options, and solutions
  • providing advice to schools about operational programs and alternative support
  • leading the development of program policy and guidelines
  • undertake business analysis and identify opportunities for improvement
  • establish processes to monitor and analyse program-wide project data
  • provide branch input to corporate asset management improvement and assurance measures implementation
