Job Description

PERSOLKELLY is working with a government client who are seeking a Category Advisor to join their team on a 12 month fixed term basis, with a strong possiblity to go perm.



Support the efficient and effective delivery of sourcing and category management activities and processes that provides compliance and governance, delivers value, and manages key risks.


Support the Category Leads with the on-going management of procurement and supply chain projects.

About the role:



  • Support the facilitation all strategic works, high risk or procurement activities.

  • Provide advisory services to support all other engagement and responsible for all queries and service request for the Divisions. This includes supporting procurement and contract management activities including exemptions, development of contract management documents, variations, annual reviews, claims and disputes and contract close outs.

  • Support the procurement pipeline for current and future works.

  • Support the maintenance of the Procurement database system and documentation.

  • Engage regularly with Managers and Stakeholders to establish collaborative working relationships that are focused on identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Support end-to-end supplier management including ensuring that relationships with key strategic suppliers are managed in accordance with the Management Framwork.

  • Management of procurement/tender workflows and procurement inbox.



About you:



  • Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, Business or Procurement related disciplines.

  • A good knowledge of procurement and contract best practice and proven expertise successfully assisting in the management of complex contracts.

  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial environment, negotiating and managing contracts for a large project or company/ business unit.

  • Clear communications skills and stakeholder management.

  • Able to work independently and take initiative.

  • Desirable: experience in the Resources, Oil & Gas or Utilities sectors
