Job Description

Your responsibilities include:



  • Mentor Junior staff on investigations for contaminated sites, groundwater, asbestos, site remediation, acid sulfate soils assessments and waste classification.

  • Coordinate field investigation works including soil, groundwater, surface water, over-water sediment sampling in connection with site assessments.

  • Manage a variety of subcontractors such as drilling rigs, excavators, service locators and traffic control crews to complete the work within allotted timeframes.

  • Understand and apply relevant WA and Australian guidelines for contamination assessment and remediation.

  • Adhere to relevant Work Health and Safety requirements.

  • Prepare proposals and write reports for site investigations and inspections.

  • Lead the Team on Land Development, Revegetation and Redevelopment Projects

  • Prepare Tenders

  • Assist in the maintenance of site Environmental Aspects and Obligations Registers, spatial data, and environmental databases

  • Engender confidence and compliance with environmental policies by demonstrating a commitment to environmental management, integrating good environmental management into everyday practices, influencing all site personnel and management to do the same

  • Undertake stakeholder engagement including meetings with regulators and local communities

  • Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of coordination, support, direction and expertise in proactive environmental management (particularly land access, native title and closure management) ensuring effective controls are in place and managed, compliant with legislative, heritage and corporate obligations

  • Develop and review the application of new procedures, processes, methodologies and technologies where appropriate

About you.



  • Ideally, 3+ years' professional experience as an Environmental Engineer or Scientist with experience in contaminated land management including site investigations and remediation;

  • Sound knowledge of Local, State and Federal Regulations and Policies

  • Achieved a Bachelor of Engineer (BE) or Environmental Science (BSc) degree;

  • Practically minded and enjoy both outdoor and desk work.

  • Must hold a current valid full driver license class C (manual license highly regarded);

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.

  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, contractors and auditors.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Proven problem solving and pattern recognition skills.

  • High level of computer skills.

  • High commitment to safety.
