Mill Operator

THE OPPORTUNITY: We are currently seeking 8 Mill Operators on a contract opportunity for our mining Client within proximity to Timmins, Ontario. This is a rotational schedule of 7/7 or 14/14, shifts are 12 hours from 6am-6pm and bus transportation is provided from Sudbury, Timmins and Toronto. All lodging and food is provided. The Mill Operator is responsible for the safe and reliable operation and basic maintenance of the processing plant circuits. The Mill Operator will work collaboratively with the team to deliver execution of the integrated plan and schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that in all aspects of the operation, environmental policies and practices are followed keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority. Perform Lock Out and Tag Out procedures on processing equipment as required. Ensure adherence to all pre-operational checks and procedural requirements to safely start-up, efficiently operate, and safely shutdown all process equipment. Identify faults, troubleshoot, and report any deficiencies on all equipment. Develop an understanding of all the mill circuits through training, reading, and hands-on experience. Identify maintenance problems and maintain acceptable housekeeping in area(s). Watch for inefficiencies or problems.Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others. Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete. Operating and monitoring various circuits in the processing plant as required by the supervisor. Circuits could include: Primary (gyratory) and secondary (cone) crushing, grinding, CIP/leach, ADR, refinery, tailings and mill auxiliary equipment AND Hot Changes may be required in critical areas of the process. QUALIFICATIONS : 6 months of mineral processing experience, and/or 2 years milling experience, and/or 4 years industrial experience Mill common core and specialty modules are an asset. Experience with OSISoft Pi and HMIs is considered an asset. Sound knowledge of milling fundamentals. Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
