Job Description

Position: Group Quality Manager

Location:Southern England

Salary: >£65k DOE

Type:Permanent - Full Time

Here at Active Personnel we have partnered with a large housing development who are looking for a Group Quality Manager to join their team. The Group Quality Manager will be working closely with the clients Group Quality Director and Senior Management teams and will be identifying approaches and methods to improve overall quality whilst monitoring construction performance and compliance with design on site.

This role requires frequent travel as you will be responsible for the regional areas in the South and South West covering locations like Exeter, Swindon and Newbury.

Main Duties of the Group Quality Manager:

Auditing both work in progress and completed properties.

Promote effective procedures for managing quality and resolution of items raised

Monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements.

Identify, record and follow up on any remediation requiring immediate action on site.

Identify areas within the design that requires additional information to assist the site teams and avoid inconsistency and commercial issues.

Perform defect investigations as and when problems arise

Educate employees and trade people on the required standards by delivering In-House training and toolbox talks

Complying with and upholding legislation, policies and procedures.

Essential Skills/Attributes of the Group Quality Manager:

Proven experience within the House Building/Construction Industry.

NVQ Level 6 Construction Management or working towards

Detailed knowledge of the Building Regulations, house building standards (NHBC, LABC) and latent defect warranty schemes.

Worked as or experienced working with Building Inspectors.

Commercial awareness.

IT Literate.

Inquisitive and problem-solving skills.

Good communicator, insightful and persuasive.

Well organised and able to work alone and as a team.

Willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.

Be able to accommodate overnight stays.
