Job Title: Commercial Manager - Rail Projects

Company: We are representing a Tier One contractor with a strong reputation for success in the CP7 rail framework. Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team and oversee the commercial aspects of key rail projects.

Position Overview: As a Commercial Manager specialising in rail projects, you will take a strategic approach to managing the commercial aspects of projects, from procurement to final account. You'll work closely with project teams, providing expert guidance on contract management, cost control, and risk mitigation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial management activities throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, contract administration, and cost forecasting.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies in collaboration with project teams to optimise project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, negotiating favourable terms and resolving disputes as they arise.
• Monitor project costs and budgets, implementing measures to control costs and maximise profitability.
• Prepare accurate and timely commercial reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in commercial management, with a strong background in the rail sector.
• Deep understanding of rail industry standards, regulations, and procurement processes.
• Proven track record in contract management, cost control, and risk mitigation.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
