Job Description

Role: Senior Commercial Manager

Sector: Renewable Power Generation (Solar, BESS, Wind)

Location: UK – Remote Working

My client who are a market leading Solar & BESS developer and are backed by one of the largest green investment funds and currently have a a project portfolio of over 5GW across the UK in varous stages of development and execution.

Due the continued growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to support the business as they continue to grow.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive business growth and profitability within the BESS & Solar units.
  • Manage a team of commercial professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of commercial initiatives
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities, and adjust commercial strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including projects, contracts and procurement, to align commercial activities with overall business objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports, financial analyses, and forecasts to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, promoting customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practises, and applicable regulations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or similar role within the energy industry ideally BESS, Solar or Wind
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial principles, including contract negotiation, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using relevant software and tools, including MS Office Suite and CRM systems
