Business Development Manager – Northern England – Solar, Wind & BESS
Summary
We have partnered with a leading renewable company, who have recently received investment from one of the largest renewable funds in the world, who are looking to take on a Business Development Manager for their UK team.
The role
- Identify new renewable projects for the company across the United Kingdom
- To provide support to the Head of Business Development and the wider team in their efforts to develop a successful business plan and to provide specific help within estates and business development areas.
- Identify sites pre-planning and wherever possible avoid on-market competition.
- Prepare the initial development concept, identify, and approach landowners and agree site and individual negotiating strategies with the Head of Business Development.
- Agree and review the site finding strategy and requirements with the Head of Business Development on a regular basis.
- Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company however, all efforts must be agreed with the Head of Business Development and will always be subject to Board approval.
- Prepare financial appraisals
- Liaise with the wider team members to support delivery of projects.
- On occasion, represent the Company at liaison meetings and landowner meetings etc., out with normal working hours.
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience in project based business development roles within the UK
- Ability to negotiate heads of terms and lease option agreements
- Understanding of large scale (>5MW) renewable energy projects
