The Opportunity

We have a new vacancy for a Regional Geological Manager who will lead on Geological services across the southern region of the UK, ensuring that all Aggregate Industries sites are compliant with relevant Legal, and Aggregate Industries standards whilst operating efficiently and effectively.

Reporting to the Head of Geological Services, youll be responsible for 5 year development plans, Reserve and Resource tracking and reporting, planning applications and operational geological support. You will also be an effective communicator to build strong relationships with operational and estate management teams.

Keys aspects of the role include:

  • Increase the sustainability of the region through mineral replenishment projects including building and managing Capex applications in relation to drilling and major geological/geotechnical projects.

  • Act as a competent person to report Reserves and Resources for regional sites.

Who you are

  • MSc in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering / Hydrogeology or similar is desirable

  • A Chartered Engineer or Chartered Geologist

  • A strong understanding of The Quarries Regulations 1999 and general health and safety management

  • Significant experience of designing notifiable excavations and tips. A thorough understanding of UK legislation relating to open pit mines and quarries is essential.

  • Proficient in the use of LSS (or similar modelling software), CAD, and RocScience geotechnical software (or similar).
