Job Role:Deputy Ward Manager in Eating Disorder Inpatient ServiceLocation: WolverhamptonSetting: Private CAMHS Hospitals for young people with eating disordersHours: Full Time, 40 hours Monday to FridayContract: Permanent

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide clinical and managerial leadership to the day-to-day operation of the Nursing team, monitoring workload, allocating duties and ensuring duties are discharged safely and effectively.
To support the ward manager in supervising the day-to-day work of the clinical team, and provide expertise and guidance on the nursing care provided to young people
To support recruitment and retention of the nursing team ensuring appropriate staffing requirements based on clinical need.
To lead and champion the clinical model supporting the development of the rest of the team.
To take a proactive approach to supervision of the nursing team ensuring it is frequent, supportive and that nurse and support worker skills are matched to clinical need.
To take an active role in ensuring Clinical Governance is embedded on site and that lessons learned are shared and understood by the nursing team.
To undertake and supervise clinical audits as allocated reporting findings into Clinical Governance Meetings.
To take an active approach in ensuring the Regulatory standards are adhered to and lead the nursing team in working towards providing outstanding clinical care.
To deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
To ensure nursing team meetings are held and feedback shared with the Senior Management Team.
To ensure patient voice is heard and engaged in all aspects of the care provided and where appropriate coproduction fostered and developed.
To participate in assessment of referrals and discussions about admissions
SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTSAs an employee you are accountable to ensure that you know how to respond whenyou are concerned for the safety of a child, young person or vulnerable adult. The company will support you in this process by providing training, support and advice.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Be a qualified nurse, registered on the NMC
  • Have relevant post qualifying experience including supervising staff
  • Be passionate about improving the lives of young people with complex emotional, mental and physical health needs
  • Understand that this is a challenging but hugely rewarding work setting
