Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Intelligence Analyst (Finance) for a temporary contract of 3-6 months. This role is pivotal in facilitating a knowledge transfer process within the Finance department, focusing on a comprehensive Excel reporting stack built on Power Query and SQL code linked to Sage 200. This area is currently not well-understood by the rest of the department and ensuring its longevity and efficiency is crucial.

Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge Transfer: Work closely with the Finance team to transfer knowledge and ensure comprehensive understanding of the existing Excel reporting stack, including Power Query and SQL integrations with Sage 200.
- Documentation and Training: Develop thorough documentation and provide training sessions to finance team members to ensure they can independently manage and troubleshoot the reporting stack post-transfer.
- Business Intelligence Solutions: Deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions, specializing in finance reporting. Includes set up of modelling tools for annual budgeting process.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements for reporting and data analysis.
- ETL Processes: Use various ETL processes (e.g., SQL, Power Query, APIs) to build robust semantic models.
- Report Creation: Create and refine Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps to ensure they are insightful and user-friendly.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot ad hoc issues with Excel, Power Query, SQL, and Power BI as needed.
- Process Automation: Assist in automating reporting processes across multiple departments/systems using tools like Power Platform and SharePoint.
- User Support: Deliver intuitive reporting solutions and processes for end users of all technical abilities, supporting both operational teams and central services.
Required Attributes:
- Power BI Experience: 2+ years of experience analyzing large volumes of complex data with Power BI.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL for data manipulation and query writing.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Expert-level knowledge in Excel, particularly in relation to financial data analysis.
- Power Automate: Experience with Power Automate for process automation.
- Finance Experience: Previous experience in a finance-related role or environment.
- Quick Learner: Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new systems and technologies.
- Personable and Customer-Focused: Able to relate well to colleagues at all levels and provide excellent customer service.
- High Standards: Commitment to delivering first-class solutions for both technical and non-technical users.
Desirable Skills:
- Accounting Qualification: Formal accounting qualification is a plus.
