Job Description
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is looking to hire a diligent and skilled C#, C++ Software Engineer for a contract position based in either Stevenke or Bristol. This exciting role will focus on the development of high-level defence systems, utilising state-of-the-art simulation technologies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of advanced defence systems from concept through to in-service support and training, leveraging simulation technologies such as digital twins and emulators.
- Collaborate with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and develop comprehensive simulation components, creating end-to-end representations of weapon systems in synthetic environments.
- Engage in agile development practices with a diverse team of engineers to develop simulations and real equipment representations.
- Maintain rigorous standards in software configuration control, continuous integration, continuous delivery or deployment, and unit testing.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in software engineering, particularly in Embedded C/C++ and C#.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse.
- Adept at navigating projects from a high-level/system view down to technical details.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information effectively.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Microsoft Windows and Linux.
- Understanding of Distributed simulation standards/protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA, DDS) and web development technologies (JavaScript, Node JS) would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of military communications, datalinks and interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP is advantageous.
