The Department of “Engineering & IT”, degree program “Applied Data Science”, is advertising the vacant position of an

Professorship for “Artificial Intelligence” (m/f/d)

• Independent teaching and management of courses (in English), as well as associated advising and mentoring of students in fields such as:
  • Artificial intelligence and data analytics
  • Information and probability theory
  • Advanced topics in applied data science
• Supervision of students at Bachelor and Master levels
• Independent research in applied AI with the aim of leading a research group
• Acquisition and management of national and international funded projects
• Participation in ongoing research activities at the university
• Taking on organizational and administrative activities (part of academic self-administration)
• Contribution to the professional profiling and further development of the study programs
• Representing the university in regional and international partnerships and in cooperation with public administration, business, and the scientific community

• Doctoral degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields
• Proof of relevant publications and conference contributions
• Teaching experience and didactic competence at university level
• Experience in initiating, managing, and implementing externally funded projects
• Several years of relevant professional experience and a strong affinity for research and knowledge transfer
• Strong self-management skills as well as a high level of commitment, ability to work in a team, and willingness to collaborate across disciplines
• Language skills in English (min. level C1, w/s)

Scope of employment: full-time (40 hours per week)

Salary: In Austria we are legally obliged to state the minimum salary which is EUR 5,100.00 gross per month for the aforementioned position (minimum salary for full-time employment, 14 salaries). There is a strong willingness to overpay depending on qualifications and professional experience.
