Job Description:

Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider. Within their Military Supply Division they are seeking a German Speaking Water Treatment Technician to work at a military camp in Mazar – e – Sharif, Northern Afghanistan.


You will be responsible for the operation of 3 water purification systems WTC 6000 with approx. 6 m3/h at a military camp where a contingent of Swedish and German troops are based.


You will carry out the service, maintenance and repair work (up to MES 2) of the water treatment plants and the cleaning and disinfection.


You will be responsible for the monitoring and inspection of the systems and drinking water storage and the logistics for facilities.


Finally you will assume responsibility for personnel during your respective shift and will be in charge of the water systems.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:


You should be an accomplished water treatment technician either of German nationality or at least able to speak German.


You should also possess good communication skills in English and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.


Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.


Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate.


This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Water Treatment Technician looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 – 18 months commitment.


The basic salary is paid in Euros and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus payable after 12 months service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.


Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off


In addition Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
