Military Police Trainer, Level 3

Job Description:

Will teach, coach, instruct, and mentor the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Soldiers who are assigned the 31B (Military Police) MOS on all applicable military subject matter in accordance with appropriate U.S. Army doctrine and/or policies. Will advise, coach, train, and mentor Combat Support Military Police at the Team, Squad, and Platoon Level as they prepare for, and then execute, Military Police Operations including: battlefield circulation control; area security; prisoner of war operations; civilian internee operations; law-and-order operations on the battlefield and support to the peacetime Army community through security of critical Army resources; crime prevention programs and preservation of law and order; police desk operations; and operating evidence rooms. The incumbent will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Combat Support Military Police Skill Levels 1-4. Will serve as ARTEP Evaluator during Unit Evaluations. Will assist in writing, developing, and publishing Lesson Plans, Training Outlines, SOPs, and other work as needed or required. Will ensure that the Task, Condition, and Standard format is utilized in all training development to include all individual and collective task training. Will coach and mentor AFL Soldiers in the use of After Actions Reviews following training events.

We are currently seeking a US Combat Support Military Police Trainer to support our Security Sector Reform program in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s degree desired. Must have minimum 10 years prior active or reserve military experience in the US Army with positions of increasing responsibility at the Platoon or Company level. Must have retired/separated honorably. Must be able to pass the standard APFT at time of hire. Must meet Army height and weight standards IAW AR 600-9. Must be able to teach effectively in various environments (classroom, field, etc.) presenting both standardized instruction and creative workshops. Must be physically fit and able to participate in field training. Be able to wear the appropriate Army uniforms and meet the grooming standards. Possess tactical and leadership skills gained from successful Platoon or Company level leadership or MOS equivalent experience. Know basic soldier and safety skills. Must pass periodic, unannounced Government-administered drug screening tests. Must possess computer skills. Must be able to live/instruct in a field environment for extended periods during training exercises. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the U.S. Army organizational structure, mission, objectives, functions, procedures, regulations and policies. Must possess a current US Passport and receive required immunizations prior to travel date. Candidate should have experience in a Combat Support MP Company functions, Drill Sergeant or Instructor time at BNCOC/ANCOC, and experience with Military Police Law Enforcement Operations.
